Fellowship for Affordable Higher Education
U.S. PIRG is hiring a Fellow to work on their Higher Education Project. This is a two-year organizing position to push back against cuts to the federal higher education budget, get predatory banking products off campus, and work to introduce free, online textbooks into classrooms. This position is based in Washington, D.C., or Boston, MA.
Campus Organizer
The Student PIRGs are hiring Campus Organizers to work with college students to make an impact on public interest issues including stopping global warming, getting big money out of politics, and alleviating hunger and homelessness. This is a one-year position that involves recruiting students to get involved with issue campaigns, providing them with the skills and experience to be effective, and helping them run exciting campaigns. Positions are available around the country.
Training Director
The U.S. Student Association (USSA) is hiring a Training Director to develop student leaders for the organization and its campaigns. This staff person will run USSA’s training programs including the Grassroots Organizing Weekend (GROW) and Election Action Project. The Training Director also oversees USSA’s national conferences. This position is based in Washington, D.C.
Summer Student Organizing Internships
USSA is hiring summer interns to work in the Field and Organizing department and the Training and Conventions department. These interns will have numerous responsibilities, including campaign outreach, tracking legislation, and organizing events. These positions come with a stipend and are based in Washington, D.C.
Summer Communications Intern
The Minnesota State University Student Association (MSUSA) is hiring a summer intern to handle tasks related to external MSUSA communications including social media management, monthly newsletter review, database updates, weekly blog posts, and campaign planning. This is a paid position that will require approximately 16 hours per week in their office in Saint Paul, MN.
